6 Channel Vibration and Phase Analyzer
The best value in vibration analysis.
DT6 for Consultants and Professional Services
Anyone who has been brought in from the ouside to perform the service of analyzing rotating machinery
knows the importance of time and clear, accurate data. You are under pressure to quickly gather complete
data so that you can not only begin to understand what is happening but also relate it to what the customer
has done to influence the situation. You want and need high resolution, complete data, but also are
pressured to get it fast. This is where the new DT6 will let you shine!
The DT6 is designed to quickly gather multiple channels of complete, phase synchronized data all at once
on a common machine. Simply place one sensor on the outboard bearing and the other on the inboard
bearing and hit the acquire button. To gain a more complete picture of the whole machine train, simply do
the same on the driven machine and then one last time for a cross the coupling, “synchronizing” all the
readings. With just 3 acquisitions (and no setup required), you now have a complete set of high resolution
data that has been preprocessed to display all of what you need to analyze what is going on.
One of the many advantages of the DT6 over other typical vibration instruments is that it collects the full
range of the sensor and stores only the complete raw data. This eliminates the need to do any setup before
taking a reading, such as frequency Fmax & Fmin, the number of lines of resolution, windows, filters etc.
With raw data, you always have everything, so the analyst simply adds or subtracts (windows, averaging,
time or frequency domain etc.) to their hearts content, after the fact, with no limitations!
The only consideration in acquisition beyond location and mounting is how long you take a reading for,
which directly relates to the final resolution. For example, if you take a 1 second reading, the “bin width” or
frequency range between frequency plot bins will be 1 Hz (or 60 RPM); 2 seconds gives you .5 Hz (30
RPM), and so on to an almost unheard of 1 RPM resolution requiring just 60 seconds of acquisition. To
make things even easier, the sensors have millisecond settling time and are not affected by temperature like
other accelerometers.
Pressure to know exactly what is the root cause of a problem leading to proper recommendations can be
stressful. That’s why the DT6’s unique Analysis Support feature will provide a huge comfort to the analyst
by not only automatically showing what the phase and amplitude relationships are saying, but it is presented
in a way that shows how and why it ranks the possibilities as it does. This immediate “second opinion” can
prove to be critical when faced with a difficult, yet important decision making process.
Fast, complete, high resolution, flexible raw data, multiple perspectives and visual “second opinion” support
all work together to make the DT6 an indispensible low cost complementary tool to any analyst’s toolbox!
