DT6 Small Plant System

  Small plants and facilities may not have the same potential of saving millions of dollars with proper vibration control like a large plant does, but the relative impact on their budget remains the same.  With a common motor/pump assembly costing several thousands in maintenance costs over its expected life, ensuring that you are getting the most from your machinery at the lowest cost is very important for all.  This can only be done by knowing exactly what is happening with your machinery—from the start! Until now, small plants and facilities have not had access to the tools necessary to know what is happening with their machines because vibration instruments can be far too expensive.  Too often they fall back to using a vibration pen, which simply does not tell a complete picture, let alone what is the cause.  This has created a dependency on outside consultants and contract maintenance services that can be very costly.  The DT6 changes all that by putting the power of understanding what is happing with your rotating equipment into your hands.  By having the quick and easy ability to check your equipment anytime you suspect something might be going wrong, you keep in control and keep costs down.  Only when a problem arises that simply goes beyond your internal expertise will you have to incur the additional cost of calling in that specialize help.  This enables more of a “call in when needed” maintenance strategy as opposed to the guaranteed high expense of a maintenance contract, much of which has its costs in paying for efforts to monitor machines that could otherwise easily be done in-house. The DT6 supports smaller operations that normally do not have specialized vibration expertise by making it extremely easy to acquire high resolution data and then advise what it all means with the Analysis Support module.  While Update always recommends practical training, it does not require extensive training to see the obvious elements that spell out trouble and call for the attention of outside help only when actually needed.  The DT6 Software can be easily upgraded to the full ENCOMPAS suite of software modules when more involved analysis, formal routes with alarms and reports are later required.
